Indonesia visa requirements
In order to apply for an Indonesian visa, you must first meet a series of requirements relating to your nationality, your travel reason, and your length of stay, among other things. If you meet these requirements, you will be eligible to apply for the Indonesia visa online. You can easily do so through this website.
The Indonesia e-visa
The Indonesia e-visa is an electronic visa that can be applied for online. It has been available to EU and British travellers since 2022. The visa application procedure is very simple. All you need to do is fill in the online application form, make the payment, and submit a series of documents. The visa's cost is £64,95. Applicants receive their visa by email in 7 days on average. If you need your visa quickly, you can always submit an urgent application. Urgent applications are usually approved within 24 hours days on average.
Requirements for the Indonesia visa
The easiest way to obtain a travel permit for Indonesia is to apply for an e-visa. This avoids you to make an appointment at the embassy or the consulate, or wait in long queues upon arrival in Indonesia. In order to apply for the visa, you must take into account a number of important requirements.
Your passport
To be eligible to apply for an e-visa for Indonesia, your passport must meet a number of requirements. First, it must be issued by a country that is eligible for the e-visa. British and Irish citizens, as well as nationals of European Union countries, Switzerland, or Norway are eligible for the Indonesian e-visa.
If you are a British national, you are eligible for an e-visa and can easily apply online.
You also need to have a regular passport. You cannot apply for an e-visa with an identity card, diplomatic passport or any other type of travel document. When leaving Indonesia, your passport must still have a remaining validity of 6 months. If your passport is about to expire, apply for a new one as soon as possible. If you have already applied for your visa and have just obtained a new passport, you must apply for a new visa for Indonesia. The reason is that the visa is always linked to a specific passport number.
Documents
During the visa application procedure, you will need to submit a number of documents, such as an passport photograph, a passport scan, and a confirmation of your return flight. These documents must meet a number of requirements. The visa specialists at e-Visa-Indonesia.co.uk will review your documents before sending them to the Indonesian immigration service. If your documents do not meet the requirements, you will immediately receive a message asking you to submit your documents again. In any case, always try to submit your documents correctly to minimise the chances that your visa is denied. Read on for more information about the necessary documents:
- Passport photograph: submit a clear, good-quality photo. It does not have to be taken by a professional photographer. A selfie is enough. The traveller should have a neutral expression, look directly at the camera, and be in front of a light, neutral background.
- Passport scan: Take a clear photo or scan of each traveller's passport. Make sure that the entire passport information page is visible, including the small print. It is particularly important that the machine-readable part (the part with these characters: >>) is fully visible and perfectly clear.
- Return flight ticket: you must provide confirmation of your return flight or cruise so that Indonesian immigration services can verify that you do have the intention to leave the country within the validity period of the visa.
In exceptional cases, Indonesian customs may also ask you to provide proof that you have sufficient funds to finance your stay in the country. For this reason, it is advisable to carry this document with you during your trip.
Submit the necessary documents correctly from the beginning to ensure that your visa application process runs smoothly. Failure to submit documents correctly or completely may cause delays.
The reason for travel
You can apply for a visa for different travel purposes. You can travel to Indonesia for tourism, to visit friends or family, or to make a stopover to another flight. If you are travelling to Indonesia for business, in many cases you can also use the e-visa. For example, to visit business partners, trade fairs or exhibitions, or to attend a meeting. However, you are not allowed to work or receive any form of remuneration from an Indonesian company. Nor can you sell products or provide services. Likewise, you cannot act as a speaker at any event. To do so, you need a special visa that must be applied for directly at the the Indonesian authorities.
Visa Validity
Once your visa has been approved, you will be able to travel to Indonesia at once. The validity period of the visa is 90 days. In other words, you will have 90 days to arrive in the country. Once you arrive in Indonesia, the 30-day stay period will begin. You may extend this stay period once, up to a maximum of 60 days. It is important that you comply with the visa requirements throughout this period. If this is not the case, you will have to leave the country. You will only be able to apply for a new visa and travel to Indonesia when you meet the requirements again.
