A visa is required to travel to Indonesia. The electronic visa, also known as Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA), has been offered by the Indonesian Inmigration services since 2022. European travellers, including British citizens, can easily apply for this visa online. Once approved, applicants receive their visa by email.
How to apply
The Indonesia electronic visa application process takes place entirely online. There is no need to make an appointment at the embassy or consulate. You can open the application form with a simple click. Make sure you have the following documents at hand before starting your application:
- The passports of all travellers that you want to include in the visa application
- The main travel details (such as arrival date and accommodation address)
- The ability to make an online payment

Urgent visa application for Indonesia
If you are travelling soon and need a visa quickly, the application form offers you the option to select an ‘urgent’ delivery. This type of application is processed more quickly than a normal application. The average processing time for an urgent application is 24 hours. Please note that this delivery time is also not a maximum delivery time and therefore cannot be guaranteed. Urgent applications may also be subject to delays, due to random checks or technical problems.
Take the visa with you
As soon as your visa application is approved by the immigration service, you will receive an email and an SMS, and you will be able to download your visa. Please check carefully that all the data on your visa are correct. If your visa has any mistake in your name or on your passport details, it will not be valid and you will need to apply for a new one. If everything is correct, print your visa and take it with you during your trip.
